Burgzorg Leaves Middlesbrough on Loan to Preston

Delano Burgzorg has joined Preston North End on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough after eight goals for Boro and a spell at Bristol City.

Delano Burgzorg has left Middlesbrough to join Preston North End on a season-long loan deal.

The 27-year-old Dutch forward departs the Riverside Stadium following the arrivals of Kyle Joseph and Will Lankshear at the club.

Bristol City spell

Burgzorg spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol City, where he made 16 appearances and scored one goal. During his time at Middlesbrough, he scored eight goals.

Preston manager's comments

Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom said: "He provides us with pace and gives us flexibility as well. He can play off the left and down the middle and is a good ball carrier. I'm really excited and really pleased that we've got him."

Career background

Burgzorg began his career with Dutch club De Graafschap. He arrived in English football in summer 2023 when Huddersfield Town loaned him from German club Mainz.
