Middlesbrough U21s made it two wins from two in the National League Cup after beating Solihull Moors 3-1 on Tuesday evening. Mark Tinkler's side came into the match on the back of a 10-0 victory over Hartlepool United in their opening group stage game.
Boro got off to a rapid start at Damson Park when Layton Campbell fired the visitors ahead in the third minute. Frankie Coulson doubled their lead shortly after, continuing an impressive start to the campaign after hitting four goals against Hartlepool.
Solihull Moors pulled one back through Callum McFarlane, but Middlesbrough maintained their advantage going into the break.
Ten minutes after the restart, Coulson found the net once again to make it 3-1. That proved to be the final goal of the match as Boro secured a comfortable victory.
The win leaves Middlesbrough top of Group C after two games in the competition.
