Middlesbrough FC forward Kaly Sène has completed a permanent transfer to Swiss side BSC Young Boys. The Senegalese striker departs after one season at the Riverside, where he made 28 appearances in the Sky Bet Championship, scoring twice.

Sène signed for Middlesbrough from Lausanne-Sport in August. Of his 28 league appearances, 23 came as a substitute, reflecting limited opportunities in the starting XI.

The forward has moved back to Switzerland in search of more regular playing time. Middlesbrough FC thanked Sène for his efforts and wished him well for the future.
