Midfielder Abdoulaye Kante has joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq on a permanent deal, ending his one-year spell at Middlesbrough FC. The 21-year-old Ivorian arrived at Boro last summer from Troyes and made six appearances for the club.
Kante started on the opening day of the 2026/27 season in Middlesbrough's home fixture against Lincoln City. He spent the second half of last season on loan with French side Saint-Etienne before securing his move to the Saudi Pro League.
Middlesbrough FC thanked Kante for his efforts and wished him well in his future career.
